After falling 51-45 in overtime at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals in last
year’s NFL betting playoff Wildcard game, the Green Bay Packers are looking for
redemption in the 2010-11 NFL betting season. NFL Betting Odds:
Packers Strengths
Passing Game
The Green Bay Packers have one of the most potent passing attacks in the league
led by quarterback Aaron Rogers. Rogers was extremely efficient last year,
throwing 30 touchdown passes while conceding just 7 interceptions.
The Packers also return their entire receiving corps. which has developed into
one of the most balanced aerial assaults in the NFL.
1,000-yard receivers Donald Driver and Greg Jennings headline a speedy wide
receiver unit that sports exceptional route runners and great hands.
Running Game
With 1,000-yard rusher Ryan Grant returning from a productive season last year
the Packers have a solid threat in the backfield to keep opposing defenses on
their heals.
Not to mention, Aaron Rogers had 5 rushing touchdowns last year and has
presented himself as a legitimate rushing threat to keep defenses honest in the
red zone.
Defense/ Special Teams
It’s hard to mention the Packers defense as a strength considering they gave up
over 30+ points five times last year.
The Packers run-stopping unit, however, is anchored by nose tackle Ryan Pickett
and is second to none in the NFL.
In addition, the return of playmaker Charles Woodson at safety will allow the
Green Bay defense numerous opportunities to create turnovers. Woodson tied for
the league lead in interceptions last NFL betting season with nine.
Packers Weaknesses
Offensive line
The real glaring weakness for the Pack is their offensive line. Aaron Rogers was
sacked 50 times last year, tied for most in the NFL.
Although Rogers does tend to hang on to the ball too long in the pocket (case in
point, his fumble that was returned for a touchdown in overtime against the
Cardinals), Green Bay’s offensive line will need to stay healthy in order to
fuel the potent Green Bay attack.
