NFL Quarterly Report

As Favorites in the NFL are on a 21-9 ATS run the last 2 weeks, I figured it was a good time to share some team notes and trends after the first 4 games of the season.

Baltimore 3-1 OVER, if the total is reasonable, the Ravens look like an Over team. The Ravens defense is good vs the run, but opponents offenses can pass on Ravens weak DB's. Baltimore's offense can run and pass. Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron has redeemed himself since his disaster as a Head Coach in Miami and has proven to be creative play caller that gets the most out of his talent.

Bills 3-1 OVER Have injury issues, but have not played up to expectations. T.O. has been a non-factor. If the Bills don't show improvement in the next 4 games look for players to quit on a lame duck coaching staff.

Bears 3-1 ATS With Cutler at QB, the Bears offense is now a legitimate threat to score, while their defense still can't stop the pass. Bears have Good Special teams.

Bengals 3-1 OVER Can compete with the better teams in league, not much team depth, still play undisciplined and get stupid penalties.

Browns 1-3 ATS WR Braylon Edwards is finally gone, the 2009 season is without a doubt a rebuilding year for the Browns. It will be interesting to see if the Brown players revolt against Mangini, or if they buy into his madness and play hard down the stretch.

Denver 4-0 ATS 4-0 UNDER All QB Kyle Orton does is win, still have my doubts about the Broncos, stay away as a favorite.

Lions 1-3 ATS S/U Has a better attitude and is improved from last season, defense is still terrible !

Green Bay 3-1 OVER Brought in the much heralded Dom Capers 3-4 defense in the offseason, still can't stop the pass.

Colts 3-1 ATS QB Peyton Manning and the Colts are headed to the playoffs once again, but aren't very good and lack talent.

Jaguars 3-1 OVER 3-1 ATS Same old Jaguars, Offense can run, struggle to pass, defense can't defend the pass.

Chiefs 0-4 ATS 3-1 OVER New GM Scott Pioli has his work cut out for him, as former KC GM Peterson didn't leave much talent.

Miami 1-3 ATS Conservative offense can run, on defense they can stop the run, but can't stop the pass !

Vikings 3-1 OVER 3-1 ATS The addition of QB Brett Favre takes the Vikings from pretender to contender. Is a Public team and will be inflated favorites.

Saints Another public team, their last 2 games have gone UNDER. As the season continues, defensive coordinators of good teams will figure out a way to slow the Saints offense down.

Giants 3-1 ATS 3-1 OVER Dominant offensive and defensive lines, young players at skill positions.

Jets 3-1 ATS Rex Ryan talks alot of trash, but has the team motivated. Offense adds playmaker WR Braylon Edwards, however it will take time for him to learn the offense.

Oakland 3-1 UNDER A bad team that the betting public wants no part of. Very soon the oddsmaker will put such high spreads on Raider games the sharps will have to play the Raiders.

Steelers 1-3 ATS Offensive line has not improved in offseason, QB Big Ben is taking a beating. Defense looks beatable without safety Troy Polamalu.

Chargers 1-3 ATS 3-1 OVER Key injuries on Offensive and Defensive lines.

49ers 4-0 ATS Becoming a public team again, does not score enough points on offense to lay big #with.

Titans Lost their last 3 games s/u and ATS all 3 went OVER.

Washington 0-3 ATS as a Favorite, last 3 UNDER.
