Tonight the Nationals will hang their hopes on Livan Hernandez who is 4-2 at home with an ERA of 2.54 this season. In his last start in Cincinnati, he pitched nine innings giving up one earned run on seven hits and five strikeouts of a 7 to 1 victory. Hernandez is 7-0 in home games under the lights this season and 7-0 in home games versus teams averaging 0.9 or less homeruns per game this season. He has struggled against the Braves in his career but over his last two outings including his final matchup against the Braves last year he is 2-0. Hernandez won back on May 4 of this season at home versus Atlanta pitching 5.3 innings giving up one earned run on five hits and one strikeout in a 6 to 3 victory.
