Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Charlie was introduced to football betting by playing parlay cards or what they called tickets at the age of 13. In 1981, Charlie was off to Las Vegas to enroll at UNLV- not exactly the Ivy league, but a great place to learn about the Sports Betting world. During these years Charlie worked for various Sports Services, and private Professional Sports Bettors and made his own wagers.
After working for a few years on the other side of the counter, Charlie decided that he was finished chasing degenerate gamblers and friends all over town for money. So in 1998 Charlie put all of his energy and time back into sports handicapping and picking winners, his first love. Charlie started his own website, www.charliescottsports.com in 2006, and has won numerous handicapping titles documented at www.sports-watch.com and www.lasvegassportsmonitor.com specializing in the NFL, NCAA Football and Basketball, with an emphasis on Totals. From August through May of every year, Charlie's focus is strictly on handicapping ( I don't have a life ) and this, combined with hard work and luck, has allowed me to live a pretty comfortable lifestyle. |

While I agree with the wiseguy/sharps move betting this Total down, I do think Joe Public will bet the Over all day Today. This Total is inflated for many reasons, the first being that this is the Super Bowl and believe me Bookmakers hate all their exposure to the Over Tonight. When these 2 Teams met in Boston Nov 6 this season, the Total was 51, while after a 0-0 half the Giants Won 24-20, with most of the points coming in the 4th quarter. I expect a similiar style of play by both Teams, Not giving up the big plays on defense, but rather dink-dunk offense's and taking what the defense gives them. The Patriots defense isn't very good, But Belechick & Brady are having longer time consuming drives on offense to keep their mediocre defense off the field the last month. Did You know the Pats defense has given up 20-10-21-24 points their last 4 gms, while the Giants defense has given up 17-20-2-14-14 their last 5 games.

I'm Playing this Total Under for a couple of reasons. First is common sense, This Super Bowl Sunday Gamblers are out & looking for action Today & Duke Basketball attracts action ! This line & Total are inflated ! Miami has talent coached by Jim Larranaga formerly of cindarella George Mason. Larranaga Coaching style brings a talented team a scrappy defensive rebounding attitude. While Duke isn't great this Season, they do give effort on defense.

Boxing Mayweather/Marquez- Old time handicappers Bob McCune and Lem Banker’s advice on handicapping Vegas fights was always, if one boxer has an opportunity for another big pay day for himself and Vegas with a win, Bet on him ! In this case if Mayweather wins, he probably gets Pacquiao and a big pay day next.

I bet the games when I think that one team has an advantage over another, or that my own line is significantly different from the off-shore line.
