3 Unit Play Take 958 San Francisco vs. Florida (7 pm ET) San Francisco is a red hot team that is very strong at home coming off a confidence building win last night against one of the very best pitchers in baseball in Josh Johnson. They are starting Jonathan Sanchez. The guy with a no-hitter under his belt has been solid in his last two starts, and has been fairly consistent and reliable at home all year. He's up against Alex Sanabia. Sanabia isn't very experienced - six starts and 21 years old. This is only his second road start, and the first hardly counts because it was at Arizona. This is a massive leap in class for him, and it's hard to trust him regardless of how good he has been.

3 Unit Play Take 953 Cincinnati at Milwaukee (2 pm ET) Milwaukee saw a five game winning streak crash to a halt yesterday when the Reds crushed them. It may not be quite as decisive today, but I expect the same result. Cincinnati starts Travis Wood. He's coming off a decent start last time out, and was brilliant the two times before that. He's new and young and confident. Chris Narveson, Milwaukee's pitcher, isn't nearly as confident right now. Two of his last three starts have been brutal, and he's not thriving as a starter. Wood has a much better bullpen behind home, and somewhat better offense.

3 Unit Play Take 967 Minnesota at Kansas City (2 pm ET) Minnesota has won six of seven (all by multiple runs), and the Royals have lost five of six, so the teams are clearly moving in opposite directions. The combined score in the first two games of the series was 30-3 for the Twins, so Kansas City isn't even trying right now. Add that to a good pitching matchup and we have a play. Brian Duensing starts for the Twins. He was moved to the starting role in his last outing after pitching very well from the bullpen all year. He started nine times last year, though, so he knows what he is doing, and he looked very good in that appearance. Facing a weak hitting team in a slump is a good spot for him to start again. He's up against veteran Brian Bannister. Bannister has been just lousy recently - too many runs and walks, and nothing sharp about what he is doing. He's facing a team that couldn't be seeing the ball better, and that's not good news for him.
