Ross Benjamin has made his reputation in this industry by being one of the sharpest sports handicappers of the recent decade. In professional sports handicapper Ron Raymond’s published book “50 Greatest Sports Betting Secrets” he probably says it best. “One of the most underrated handicappers in our industry and probably one of the sharpest ones I know is Ross Benjamin.”
In spite of going public just 8 years ago Ross has been around the sports handicapping industry for the majority of his adult life. Starting at the age of 23 Ross broke into the business by working for one of the biggest bookmakers in Western New York. This laid the foundation that gave Ross the invaluable perspective of how lines are set, line movements, how public perception affects the line, and the uncanny ability to spot value. One of Ross’ often used phrases when speaking publicly is “if you want to be a successful sports handicapper then start by thinking like a bookmaker”. Ross is now 54 years old and has been directly involved in many capacities of the sports gaming industry for the last 29 years. However there is nothing he enjoys more than the challenge of picking winners against the point spread in football and basketball or the money line in baseball.
Ross moved to South Florida in July of 2002 and his since relocated his office to Canton, Massachusetts in 2009. His stock really sky rocketed publicly after winning the 2003 Playbook Football Wise Guy contest and it has been soaring ever since. Ross swept all 3 categories of the invitational contest that consisted of 45 sports services. Ross walked away with $10,500 in real cash winnings. Ross was documented by The Sports Monitor of Oklahoma as #1 handicapper in the country on money earned during 2008 March Madness by posting a record of 29-17 (63%). In 2009 he followed that up by posting a rock solid 35-21(62%). In 2007 Ross was also #1 rated handicapper in the country on money earned in the NFL Playoffs as documented by The Sports Monitor of Oklahoma posting a stellar record of 9-2. Those selections included both the side plus the total winners in the Super Bowl on the Giants and under the total. He followed that up by going 6-3 in the 2008 NFL Playoffs. In 2005-2006 Ross was rated the #1 NHL handicapper in North America by one of the most reputable sports monitors on the web BigGuy. At that very same sports monitor in 2005-2006 Ross was rated #2 rated handicapper in the country in the NBA. In the 2003 college football season Ross was documented by Sportswire.com as going a remarkable 45-23 (66%). Ross just recently finished #1 in the country during the CBB regualr season as monitored by the Sports Watch of Las Vegas. He went 116-77 (60.1%) on the season and client profited 31.3 units on the season based on a 1.0 unit wager per play.
Ross became in high demand by radio stations across the country who valued his expert opinions and analysis of upcoming games. In the 2007 football season he was heard weekly on 10 radio stations across North America. The stations include KFNS AM 590 "The Fan" in St. Louis, Missouri, WAXY AM 790 ESPN radio Miami, Florida, WHBQ AM 560 Memphis, Tennessee, WHTK AM 1280 Rochester, New York, WJOX AM 690 Birmingham. Alabama, KTIK AM 1350 ESPN radio Boise, Idaho, WJDX AM 620 Jackson, Mississippi, CKST AM 1040 Vancouver, British Columbia (aired during the Jim Rome Show), KTKR AM 760 "The Ticket" San Antonio, Texas, and KZNS AM 1280 "The Zone" Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was the past host of the “The Ross Benjamin Show” on The Sports Journey Broadcast Network. Ross has shown to be very media savvy. His ability to be well versed in the world of sports above and beyond sports handicapping has made him a valuable radio commodity.
Ross has authored several handicapping articles in his career some of which have appeared in national handicapping publications such as Marc Lawrence’s Playbook Magazine, Bet on Sports, and some of the major handicapping portals on the web. His August, 2006 article titled "Telling it Like it is" correctly predicted the college football 2007 BCS Championship Game between Florida and Ohio State. In that game Ross not only gave his clients Florida +7.0 as a documented TOP PLAY selection but also advised they make a money line wager on Florida to win the game outright. His Super Bowl selections the last 6 years are a documented and incredible 9-2.
As opposed to many in this industry Ross has an impeccable reputation in operating with the highest degree of ethics, professionalism, and integrity. His handicapping style is not limited to one particular area but is well diversified taking into account numerous factors. As a result Ross is one of the most consistent winners in this industry today and never jeopardizes his integrity to make an extra dollar from a potential client. One conversation with Ross and you will understand the wealth of knowledge, honesty, and integrity that this true professional brings to the table. |

I will get some to question why I would want to wager versus the top team in the country tonight especially in light of the fact they're facing a team entering with a 3-game losing streak. Quite frankly in a weird way that losing streak works to our advantage in the sense we would have never received this generous a number for the home underdog tonight two weeks ago in the same matchup. Mississippi St. has some serious chemistry issues but nobody who knows college basketball will question their talent level. The Bulldogs have been classic underachievers this season and this is the type of situation where they can prove something to the rest of the country. By the way 2 of those 3 losses during the losing streak took place in overtime. Play on Mississippi St. has a 25* Top Play selection.

The Rams are an excellent 12-1 SU at home this season and that in itself gives the home underdog a lot of value. In addition Colorado St. (16-9) still has an outside chance at a NCAA Tournament berth but they need a couple more signature wins to add to their resume. The Rams are very capable of doing so on their home court as evidenced by wins in Fort Collins this season versus quality teams like Colorado and San Diego St. They see the 3-point shot is the great equalizer in college basketball. Well if that's the case the Rams have that on their side as supported by their 41.0% conversion rate in that area which is good for #7 nationally.
New Mexico is a virtual lock for the NCAA Tournament with a 20-4 record and the toughest part of their regular season schedule behind them. The Lobos have been awfully impressive over the last 3 weeks but this looks like an ideal spot for them to be flat. New Mexico comes off back-to-back convincing wins over nationally ranked UNLV and San Diego St. can you say let down? Play on Colorado St. plus the points as a 50* Top Play selection.

The Blazers come off a poor performance last night on the road in a loss to the Lakers. This is a Portland team that's been a vastly better team at home than on the road this season. San Antonio was able to keep their winning streak alive last night with a narrow 4-point win over Utah on the road in a game that was nip and tuck throughout. In spite of their 11-game win streak the Spurs find themselves as an underdog in this spot. I'm not taking the bait play on Portland minus the points as a 50* Top Play.

This will be an extremely important contest for Northwestern (16-10) as it pertains to an at-large-bid to the NCAA Tournament. In addition they will be out to avenge a 66-64 overtime loss at An Arbor in these clubs other meeting this season. Michigan has been lights out at home going 15-0 this season but has been less than imposing on the road at 2-6. The Wolverines are coming off a highly emotional upset win at home versus Ohio St. on Saturday night. This is a very nice spot for the home team tonight. Play on Northwestern as a 25* Top Play selection.
